22 November 2018, Singapore: Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) hosted the SG:D Industry Day Programme at Suntec City, Singapore. This event brought together key stakeholders to discuss Singapore’s transformation towards a Digital economy.
Minister of Communications and Information, S. Iswaran, launched a new initiative called GoCloud, to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the infocomm technology sector embrace emerging and advanced technologies. These efforts form part of the Services and Digital Economy Technology Roadmap termed as Services 4.0. This approach spans across industries such as logistics, banking, media and transportation, and will be a key driver for Singapore’s growth.
GoCloud will help SMEs to move towards Cloud Native Architecture – where software, systems and solutions are designed specifically to be deployed over a network, known as the cloud.
Mr Iswaran also announced a new 2-year programme to help companies collaborate with digital solution providers; The Digital Services Lab. This programme aims to bring together industry and research partners to solve digitalisation challenges specific to certain sectors.
